La Gran Mawon is a prominent Afro-Domincan Caribbean Roots Fusion band highly influenced by Luis "Terror" Dias, Fela Kuti, Miles
Davis, amongst many otherrs. After playing at prominent Dominican music festivals, they are know visiting New York City for one week only! 

Our monthly stew of diaspora flavors is going down September 8th, this time with specials guests Kiskeya Libre & La Gran Mawon! Uptown Vinyl Supreme & CUFA BX get together once a month to bring together experimental sounds to create a delicious stew for your musical palette. CUFA is a organization based out of Brazil where they develop projects in education, environment, culture and sports. Since 2009 CUFA has developed branches and social projects in several countries including Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Chile, Germany, Haiti, Hungary, Italy, Spain and the US. Resident DJ, Artist, Emcee & Engineer Eli Efi runs the Bronx, New York chapter of CUFA. 

This event takes place at Andrew Freedman Home, the mansion on the Grand Concourse that even some Bronx Folks don't know about. It is a free event open to the public and most importantly those that are looking for a space to get down. There will be vendors, massages and love all night long. Beer sponsored by Bronx Beer Hall.The mothership takes off at 7pm and lands safely at midnight and sometimes even longer if the vibes are high.

Bring a friend, your aunt or even your mom because this is a safe space for all to have a good time.
